Imeachtaí/ Events

Flag Raising Day
Minister Heather Humpreys, family and friends joined us on May 20th to help us celebrate our achievement in getting our Gaelbhratach and Active Flags.  The crowd enjoyed an afternoon of song, drama and dance.  Everyone enjoyed the sing song with the surprise guest Marty Moan.  'Hit the Diff' was in full swing.

Cuimhniú Éirí Amach na Casca 1916
Bhí an halla dubh le daoine; clann, cairde agus pobal na scoile ar fad chun an ócáid spéisiatla seo a chuimhniú.  Thosaigh an ceiliúradh le ceolchoirm, ceiliúradh ár gcultúr a bhí i gceist.  Bhí taispeántas ceoil, amhráin, danta, cluichí, agus damhsa Gaelach ó ghach rang.

Tar éis an cur i láthair ar imeachtáí 1916 chuaigh an scoil amach chun an brat Éireannach a ardú.  Chuir muid críoch leis an lá le hAmhrán na bhFiann.

Scéalaí, 'Armagh Rhymers'
Bhí na Armagh ar ais ar scoil inniu.  Chuir siad dráma 'An Loch Gan Aimn' os comhair an lucht féachána.  Bhain na páistí an taitneamh as an lá.

Storytellers 'The Armagh Rhymers' were back in school today.  After a workshop with rang3 and An Coiste Gaelach they performed the drama 'The Lake with No Name' to classes.

'Cúpla Focal' Campaign
Ar an 1ú Márta an chéad lá de Sheachtain na Gaeilge chuaigh páistí ó rang 2 - 6 ar siúlóid an bhaile ag cuir tús leis an bhfeachtas 'Cúpla Focal'
Asking the shops, businesses and community groups of Clones to speak cúpla focal Gaeilge to the children when they are with them.

'Cúpla Focal' Campaign

Today members of 'An Coiste Gaelach' took to the streets of Clones to inform the shops and businesses about their campaign 'Cúpla Focal'.  The children are asking of staff to use cúpla focal to the children when they are in store...simple phrases like 'Dia duit', 'Go raibh maith agat' and 'slán'.  The message very positively received and the children were AMAZED with the fact that EVERYONE had cúpla focal. Wouldn't it be great if they could hear it a bit more often.

The children are going to launch their campaign on Tuesday 1st March. At 12.00 classes 2nd-6th will parade up Fermanagh Street and will be met on the Diamond by some local clergy, politicians and community leaders.  Line the route and cheer the children along.

Fáinne Airgid
Comhghairdeas libh!

Bhí scrúdú an Fháinne ar siúl i scoil Naomh Thiarnaigh inniu. Fuair 22 páistí an Fháinne Airgid.
